Main reason for optimism is leapfrogging - thats when a society/place that was excluded from industrial age networks leapfrogs an old system to a new one thanks to 1000 times more COMstech than 1946; about a third of the world never had wired telephone lines, now almost all have mobile (text version); more than a quarter of the world never had electricity grids, now microsolar is linking in;. Even as the 1960s moon race inspired the world, we need to understand how unequal the opporttunity to innovate had been - even in the 1960s as many as half the world's people had no access to electricity grids so they got their news of the moon race by word of mouth.

Consider 1000-1500- until the last few years of this period , the known world was Europe-Asia and NE Africa; #BR8 the med sea was the main world trade waterway; places facing this sea increasingly developed win-win trades; moreover #BR7 the west asian border to med sea was the start of an amazing overland relay of traders which stretched all the way to china (the silk road was the greatest overland world trade route ever and to sustain its interfacing markets required positive cross-cultural bridging all along its route. Silks and spices from the Chinese end acted like a positive currency- there was much demand for them whose value naturally went up the further they were merchanted back to Europe. Everyone gained for this trading route- you can read marco polo's diaries- perhaps nowhere invested more in artistic celebrations of being a major hub of positive trade than his hometown venice in europe and the town he was asked to govern for 2 years in china Hangzhou which marco described as the great town of markets in the world.)

What happened towards 1500 that 2 long shipping routes were discovered by north europeans- the new world of the ameriucas to the west (#BR6 N, #BR10 what we now call Latin America), and a way of reaching the @BR2 South Asian coastal Belt (starting with the indian subcontinent) by sailing around africa. A ship captain couldnt affird such a long return voyage unless he goit what trade he wanted- soon this big ships were equipped with gun power and crews were pressganged or even enslaved. Next in the process was colonising. So it was that nations became big by pludering economies of other peoples places. Back in 1500 places economic size was corelated with population. Soon Britain grew at the expense particularly of the Indian subcontiuent. Mainly Britain and France colonised Africa too, Spain andPotrtugal colonised Latin America. North America was settled by a mixyure of Europeans whose declaration of Indendence in 1776 ended any attempt by Britain to colonise America, But we should note that the USA was built on a sort of internal colonisation - natives had theor places taken over and slaves were used to do most of the hard labour. In effect the old war's colonial ways casued the 2 world wars of the fkirst half of the 20th C. From 1946 most of the world's countries regained their independence but starting from (mainly undeveloped states - poverty that the colonia era had gtraped them in).

Ironically whule the UDA came to tghe resuce of the old workld and from 1946 helped relaunch the two biggest losers of world war 2 Germsny and Japan, american (not withstandiong thair family trees origins) had previously had little modern of knowledge of Eurasia but were pulled into peacekeeping and the cold war with russia through the sceond half of the 20th C. Whilst there was some understanding of the extraoerdinary progress japanese enginers made with electornics, civil and other enginnering, the rise and rise of the east and the often difficult bodrers that had been caused by British and Jpoanese colonisation of the region are not deeply studied by most Americans or their media. It should be the best news the world has ever seen that the fifth of the world in chjna tghat closed itself to the world for more than a centiry after Brfits has offered opium as a gtrading currency in 1860 is now as entrepreneurial as anywhere. With over half of tghe world's ;people facikng either the sout asia or east asia coastal belts, the opportunity the east is cfreating to win0pwin gtrade oin line with moore's ever increasing technology should make sustainable youth worlwdie the gfreatesty positive curency-invetsment the human race has ever mapped. But this is not how USA or the block of coungtriues ruled by the Euro have marketed transapfrently. Instead we are caught in the Keynsian crisis of economist not valuing the hippocratic oathes he had published as tghe final chapter of the ngeneral throy of employment money and interest. The 2020s are likely to make the system designs our tech spreads irreversible- will the end game be big brother extinction or little sister sustainability?

DEARMERKEL
so in separating europe the way you advocate - what will be the main language investors - those hunting for sustainability network that cooperate in jinpings globalisation 2.0  use?

german?

I doubt that its as smart as you think it is to create an english language-apartheid around "europe's" connections with global youth- i spent many years volunteering at the EU's knowledgeboard- the hundreds of thousands of members who believed the eu declaration of becoming the smartest region in the learning economy certainly would not have imagined that where they were being led to

cnn.com/fareed deeply troubling commentary on saudi =94% of terror saudi-sunni not iranian???

when on when will EU put its tax havens in order

The Malta Files should red face everyone in brussels especially as malta currently holds the rotating presidency of the EU

type 1 terror is back - prayers for manchester

type 1 terror is hi-tech- typically needs bombmaking cell - mercifully that seemed to have been kept in check by eg UK authorities in recent years-  therefore  manchester blows that assumption- given how widely known adedi was to the experts

type 2 terror is low tech  or pervasively available - guns or big lorries- that needds a lot more work culturally ???

all very sad but PM may must getting back to trade connections if all of brexited uk isnt to lose hope

from BRICS to RIC

When economic consultants celebrated BRICS - they couldnt really lose in identifying the 2 largest nations in populace and the largest resourced  geographically but one has to ask
will south africa rise again after zuma
and will Brazil politicians ever live up to its peoples and natural resources

worth watching is china's approach - will it give brazil and south africa a relatively cold shoulder? in racing to new transparency levels inside china can one affird a special triading relationship with B and S

put another way : some of the best news for the world in 2018 could evolve from China helping bring transparency to India and Russia- both pretty complex neighbours but critical to its Belt Roads-

maybe argentina and chile are better transparent investment bases in south america, and kenya, ethiopia more urgent in africa especially as with china they may be able to help egypt- where exactly could south africa help with kits potentially brilliant innovation hubs if south africa gets back on track worthy of mandel/

BA blames bad electricity

BA has a very large IT infrastructure; it has over 500 data cabinets spread across six halls in two different sites near its Heathrow Waterside HQ.

This time last year, BA tech union reps were pleading with the Home Office airline not to outsource IT jobs to Tata Consultancy Services in India.
Regarding statements from the GMB trade union suggesting there was a link between the current problems and the IT redundancies and the outsourcing of some work to TCS last year, the airline told The Reg: "We would never compromise the integrity and security of our IT systems.
"IT services are now provided globally by a range of suppliers and this is very common practice across all industries" and ... "the UK Government."
Speaking from the airline's operations centre near Heathrow in a Twitter vid, the chief exec said: "Today we have experienced a major IT system failure that is causing very severe disruption to our flight operations worldwide. All of our check-in and operation systems have been affected and we have cancelled all flights from Heathrow and Gatwick for today."
If you're still planning to travel with BA via Gatwick or Heathrow tonight, turn the car around, the message is "don't go" to the airport.
And don't call the call centre either!
"Naturally," said Cruz "many customers have tried to find out more information from our contact centres, but these centres are also hampered by the IT issues."
And don't try to rebook. That functionality is "limited" at the moment, the CEO confirmed.
one good thing about the europeans being as mad as hell after the PR fun and games at nato and sicily  . is no creative disruption is crazy any more - what we need girls to unite deep family faiths out of every community- its all we the peopels have left when it coes to actial freedom of speech

african & americans 1 tebabu thanks for meeting yesterday - all the agendas we discussed urgent for meetup with king and al; what with your congress meeting september examining every food value chain, and king/al celebration july - the only true social justice place event to be convened by american hosts within 1000 miles of DC

china and youth 1 please confirm time king gives us; if i am end up being only person at jack ma's Gateway '17 then baltimore's idea that it can host 20 of the greatest tech garages ever seen for girls and goal 11 challenges will never get back on diary

africa 2 one thing i forgot to ask you - do you still have any young african diaspora country by country round you - if so someone needs to closely monitor african development bank summit in india in terms of all its news - it sounds as if africans and indians are deliberately reviewing everything on agriculture independently of the conventional america PR; i have no understanding of whether ethiopia's and kenya's presidents are hi-trust people buts whats pricessless is they have been at all the right summits- the only 2 african leaders in beijing among 29 national leaders may 15; somehow the only heroes of the g7 summit yesterday

india 1 mostofa i do not know if lucknow has some teachers interested in new curricula
eg future of agriculture- stafanos and tebau did you keep in touch woith intel agricultiure people I introduced you to- they will become pivotal again

india and east 2 : never too early to prepare for india g20 2019 - 2 reasons; only 2 student class years away - china is happy to let india clarify what the other 1 billion person country's view of the world is; one day very soon people would look at how absurd the G7 was and wonder why it wasnt obvious that young world needed A2 summits to prepare missing content curricula a1 = china, a2 =india

china 2 xi jinping now working very hard on his own internal ;politics- in the next 4 months he chose his leadership team for next 5 years ; meanwhile he hasnt to balance everything in hope that sensible english language nations connect with his youth opportunities; but whether or not that happens he will also need to keep enough time for mapping back india g20; this is also why he probably only has a few months left hoping that some franciscan group will take over argentina g20 in a sensible way that all sustainable youth can celebrate

sanfrancisco1 we needed on hi-level person we can trust in sanfrajcisco nlow- otherwise whole conscious movement of mackey will miss the boat- sad consequence of medi coverage of trump is san francsico/berkeley social justice is all turning very racist separated by diaspora because of failing to unite through baltimore - i wish it wasnt so but youth research here is very clear= asnother reason why batimore silicon garages were needed as a leaflet given to every dignatiry attending thrugood marshall event

china 3 from his succession in 2022 girls empowerment networks across china need to be 10 times stronger - this is clearly a personal interest as his one child is a daughter but one of the few vested interest a politician has ever had worth supporting

eurobust 1 :: latin last call merkel is almost as vain as trump - unless we can find someone, it would be wise to assume very little will come out of g20 in hamburg july 2017 - from the first day that is over latin girls and youth network get their one year to really change the world and help everyone live up to pope francis; jack ma has already made argentina his number 2 national partner though I imagine china trudeau is advising him and may morally be hos top global partner; do we have any toronto connections- i desperately need to open space up there (will ivonica become vice vice president)

; if i may beg for help: - i need everyone who ever meets al to tell him that story in their own way

do we have anyone else in dc-baltimore area who is mad about arts and music, i have to get back to monica yunus with something that interests her enough so she introduces me to fosun the number 1 gateway to everything goodwill out of shanghai

most exciting news this week

likely to come from african development back hosting its summit in india and wanting to review everything on agriculture

italy is clarifying how china is mapping win-win free trade for small enterprsies round the world in way that nowhere else is, multiplied by sicily g7 being gateway to immigration challenges

pivotal italian people who can help mediate italy-china-usa- and all global youth include
romano prodi
massimo d'alema
italian prime minister
pope francis

critical timeline class of 2017-2018 before g20 in argentina

maurice , camilo is there any way one of you or friends can contact secretariats of any of  prodi, d'alema, italian pm?

maurice is there someone at vatican university who can help us ?

could i check where you are based these days and whether i could fly up for a meeting

BRIDGING 3 WORLD CHANGING MOVEMENTS
1 BELT ROAD FORUM Globalisation 2.0 launched by 29 national leaders and the big 3 us-based: UN, World Bank, IMF
2 Jack Ma EWTP, SME Value Chains and Big Data Small Blockchains
3 Youth and citizen 363 day a year updates of G20 open society solutions

my friends and I are putting a lot of effort into researching how class of 2017-2018 can bridge china confucian and argentina franciscan g20 july 2018; its my experience that connecting with the start of a student year in this case 2017-2018 will be an urgent timeline

in december kissinger briefed us that the next 4 years of america-china relationships will determine the future of youth everywhere in irreversible ways

we have excellent students links
in china coordinated by amy since we first shared views on a change the world mooc inspired by jim kim in 2014
and rome and italy coordinated by maurice who volunteers for vatican university youth ambassador summits
bangladesh where amy has visited founding family of brac and organiser of plan international - i desperately want to help ensure that everything sir fazle abed innovated on girl empowerment doesnt get lost- every sustainability goal's deepest solutions seem to me to link back to girls empowerment maps and understanding tech leapfroging- sir fazle was kind enough to host a roundtable at japan embassy in dhaka in memory of my father where he clarified how brac had navigated the hi-tech transition that grameen did not; since then i have made a good friendship with new yorker ed resor at World Possible - he invested in grameen phone in 1996 and then brac internet so is a convergent source on reality of how girl empowerment bridged pre- and ;post-digital

just recently sal khan and brac primary schools found each other -which will be huge at that level but we are still missing direct monitoring of bracs adolescent girls solutions in spite of meeting the lady at brac in charge of that -does anyone who sherpas g20 youth ,linkin with bangladesh or other most innovative girls movements/

regarding muhammad yuus i am happiest supporting monica yunus arts movements www.singforhope.org - a new york innovated paradigm ready to franchise through any city wanting to bring back live arts culture to every community

 - we would love to connect canada and indeed all english speaking nations, with of course particular youth jobs trading crises in post-brexit uk

we have united many education and eg john mackey inspired networks in baltimore which we would like to use as a collaboration incubation city both close enough to dc to try to change aspects of donald trump and historically connected to girls led baltimore movements of end slavery whose most famous alumni was thurgood marshall

I will be attending jack ma's Gateway '17 in detroit next month- will you or colleague be there. I aim to publish a  book on world record job creation in several languages - do you know of anyone who might be interested in french version. While i spent a lot of time with parisian supporters of muhammad yunus who actually invented the idea of global socfial business partnering in 2005 trying to connect paris from my home in washington dc may be a travel budget too far
